tHE START OF MY STORY

I knew since I was young that my life had a bigger purpose. In high school, I was called to go to seminary, and this began my important life journey.

I grew up in a small artsy town called Fairhope in southern Alabama. Here, my love for art was fostered and nurtured all the way through high school. I was an active member in the local Presbyterian church from a young age and fell in love with what it means to be Presbyterian. After graduating high school, I went to the local community college for two years where I majored in Studio Art, one of my passions. I then transferred to The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. There, I switched from Art to Human Development and Family Studies. This field is somewhat similar to social work with a focus on preventative care for at-risk families and communities. After college, I went to The University of South Carolina where I worked at the Presbyterian campus ministry, UKirk South Carolina. I worked here for a year while I was applying to seminary.

I graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary with my Masters of Divinity and Masters of Arts and Practical Theology.

Now I am a Staff Chaplain at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama on my way to be ordained and board certified as a chaplain.
